DIVREI YOEL PARASHAS TOLDOS

1. The Satmar Rebbe, ZY"A, (Divrei Yoel Parashas Toldos, pp. 559-560) explains a fundamental point regarding our status in exile. The Rebbe explains that although galus is exceedingly painful, and, of course, we pray every day for an end to this exile with the arrival of the true Moshiach, galus is actually for our own benefit. There is a very strong kitrug over Eretz Yisroel, but the galus causes it to be lessened, as it is stated: "But even so, when they will be in the land of their enemies, I will not be disgusted with them nor will I reject them to destroy them...." We see from this that the process of galus is actually for the good of the Jewish People. It is their salvation.

In Vayoel Moshe 14, the Rebbe brings a fascinating Ramban. The Ramban discusses the tochecha and the conditions necessary for these horrifying curses to take effect, R"L. The Ramban explains that the klalos of the tochecha can only come to pass if all or even most of the Jewish People reside in Eretz Yisroel. If, however, all or most of the Jewish People reside in Chutz La'aretz, these curses will not take effect, for as the above-quoted verse teaches, Hashem has promised not to abandon us in galus. Hashem maintains a special closeness and has a special mercy for us when we are in galus, and therefore, He will not bring the tochecha upon us. He will not even bring the curses upon the minority of Yidden who are living in Eretz Yisroel.

We see clearly from the above teachings that the Zionist movement, which aimed, and still aims, to uproot Yidden from Chutz La'aretz and resettle them in "Israel" can lead to nothing but trouble for Klal Yisroel. This movement of "aliyah" opens up Klal Yisroel to the terrible punishments of the tochecha, R"L. This is aside from the fact that virtually anyone who goes to Israel at the behest of the Zionists will end up becoming convinced of many Zionist principles, speaking the Zionist language, and perhaps even joining the heretical Zionist army or government. Many of these misguided souls wind up living in dangerous areas and provoking the Palestinians, thereby violating severe Torah prohibitions and bringing all of Klal Yisroel into even greater danger, R"L.

The Chesed L'Avraham teaches that when Moshiach comes, he will find 7,000 Jews in Eretz Yisroel. He explains that these 7,000 will be on a much higher spiritual level than the rest of Klal Yisroel. When the other Jews complain to Moshiach about the great spiritual levels of the Jews remaining in Eretz Yisroel, Moshiach will reply that since these people risked their lives and possessions to live spiritual lives, although they would live in physical deprivation, they were rewarded by attaining great spiritual levels, but those who chose to remain in galus, for the sake of materialism, will be rewarded merely with material fortune, although they too lived as good Jews.

The Rebbe understood the Chesed L'Avraham to mean that before Moshiach comes, Eretz Yisroel will pass from the Zionists to the control of the non-Jews. At that time, all those who came to Eretz Yisroel because of the Zionists will be forced to either leave or stay behind and face punishment, R"L. When Moshiach comes, he will find those few righteous individuals who chose the deprivation of living in Eretz Yisroel under non-Jewish rulership. These tzadikkim will be given a great reward. (The Rebbe, by R' Dovid Meisels, pp. 513-514)

We learn from the Rebbe that all the work of the Zionists, will, in the end, be destroyed. The Rebbe writes this explicitly in Al Hageulah V'al Hatemurah. He states there: "Moshiach will destroy everything the Zionists built."
* **
The evil malady of Zionism is seen today primarily amongst the so-called "religious Zionists." Attempting to use the Torah to back up their false and misguided philosophies, they have trapped so very many people into believing that the existence of the State of Israel is the beginning of the Moshiach. Forgetting the fact that Hashem decreed the exile upon us, they mock anyone who does not follow the Zionist agenda. They refuse to acknowledge the fact the wanderings of galus are for our own benefit. In their attempt to push for the premature arrival of Moshiach, they increase kitrugim and the middas hadin in the world, endangering the Jewish People and violating severe Torah prohibitions.

2. "It is the way of the resha'im to look down on the tzaddikim and attempt to lessen their stature in the eyes of people. They try with all their strength to accomplish this...." (Divrei Yoel Parashas Toldos, p. 574)

It is important that we separate ourselves from the resha'im, especially the resha'im who mock the tzaddikim. This mockery is exceedingly dangerous as many people can be influenced by this malicious mockery. Many Zionists today have chosen this path of evil, publicly mocking anyone who does not wish to deviate from Torah-true values. This is a great evil and it behooves every G-d-fearing Jew to stay far away from such heretics.

3. Hashem commanded Avraham Avinu to leave his homeland and travel to an unknown destination, which, of course, turned out to be Eretz Yisroel. Rashi explains that Hashem was going to give many special blessings, such as the blessing of children, to Avraham Avinu and these blessings could only take effect in Eretz Yisroel. Given this fact, asks the Rebbe (Divrei Yoel Parashas Toldos, p. 650), why didn't Avraham take a wife for Yitzchok from Eretz Yisroel, such as Eliezer's daughter? The Rebbe explains that having one's mind and thoughts connected with the holiness of Eretz Yisroel is more important than actually being in Eretz Yisroel. Our Sages say, "The cursed cannot unite with the blessed," in other words, Eliezer's daughter could not marry Yitzchok because although she lived in Eretz Yisroel, her thoughts and prayers were not on that lofty level of spirituality. Rivka, on the other hand, although living in Chutz Laaretz, was connected in her thoughts with the Shechinah and the holiness of Eretz Yisroel.
* * *
While many Zionists like to claim that anyone who does not live in Eretz Yisroel is violating Halacha and has a "galus mentality," the reality is that we, the Torah-true Jews living in Chutz La'aretz, have a much greater connection to Eretz Yisroel then these wicked heretics who live in Eretz Yisroel, but have no connection to Hashem and His holy Torah. By constantly being involved in davening, learning, gemilas chasadim, or even just keeping the Torah-true concepts of Eretz Yisroel in mind, we have a connection to the holiness of Eretz Yisroel and merit the blessings of the Land. On the other hand, the foolish resha'im who constantly proclaim their "devoutness" and "genuine piety," while defaming anyone who does not accept their heresy, have no connection to Eretz Yisroel or the Torah. These apikorsim, who willfully violate issurei kareis, are not to be considered part of Jewish Orthodoxy. We must inform the entire world that we, as servants of Hashem who faithfully follow the holy Torah, have no connection to these wild animals.

4. "It is stated in the Gemara (Meseches Gittin 57b) that at the time that the voice is the voice of Yaakov, the hands are not the hands of Eisav....If the Jewish People are engaged in the study of Torah, no people or nation can rule over them, and even if the evil people want to approach them for harm, they cannot, which is not the case if they remove themselves from involvement in Torah." (Divrei Yoel Parashas Toldos, p. 631)

Once again, we see from the above section of Divrei Yoel how false the claims of the Zionists are. The Zionists would like us to believe that the IDF saves and guards all of the Jews in Eretz Yisroel from harm. With this argument, they hope to demonize every Torah-true Jew who refuses to participate in their army of heresy and filth. This claim is patently false. The Torah protects the Jewish People. The heresy that is perpetuated by the mere existence of the Zionist army endangers the Jewish People! Our refusal to join the repulsive army of the heretics is a great source of pride for us. Let us strength ourselves and each other against the heresy of Zionism. Let us stand up proudly and proclaim: We will never bow to the idol of Zionism and we will never have anything to do with the evil satanic army of the Zionists.
